Property Taxes

  • Lenoir City's Certified Tax Rate: $1.06
  • Loudon County's Certified Tax Rate
    • $1.57 (outside the City Limits of Lenoir City)
    • $1.45 (inside the City Limits of Lenoir City)
  • Property Taxes are mailed out on October 1st
  • Property Taxes are due by the last day of February
    • If the last day of February falls on the weekend, then you will have the following business day to pay the property taxes
    • If property taxes are mailed and postmarked by the last day of February, it will be accepted without penalty
    • Penalty gets added on March 1st
  • Penalty is 1.5 percent each month
  • The 2008 property taxes will be sent to the Clerk and Masters Office on April 1st

Tax Relief

New Rules:

To apply for Tax Relief, you must bring in five (5) items: Medicare card, Driver's License for proof of age, Social Security Card, Income for 2008, and Proof of ownership/Proof of Life Estate.

Please note that there is a new income maximum of $25,360.00 for you and your spouse, together. If your yearly income exceeds this amount, you are not eligible for Tax Relief.

When you complete the application, you must sign it, and bring it into the office if it is a new application.
